BREAKit project at ECOMONDO, the leading expo for the green and circular economy

Serena Sgarioto, R&D Manager of Relight, presented the BREAKit project at ECOMONDO, the International Fair Trade for Material & Energy Recovery, which took place last week in Rimini (Italy). The presentation showed how BREAKit provides skills and offers new opportunities for researchers, PhDs and Post Doc students willing to explore their potential beyond technical skills and aiming to improve their skills on innovation & intrapreneurship, communication, business models, customer needs and markets.

Relight is a private company operating in the Italian e-waste (“WEEE”) sector. Since its establishment, the main aim of Relight is to ‘close the loop’ of the waste and find new technological solutions for the recycling of different fractions that constitute WEEE, especially for critical raw materials. Relight is fully involved in European projects to develop new treatment processes and innovative applications. Thanks to its experience, Relight knows that it’s very important to transfer activities from a business model innovation perspective, and gain skills to align researchers’ and stakeholders´ needs, approaches and outcomes.

Therefore, Relight provides the industrial perspective to BREAkit, considering the skills and competences that the Raw Materials sector demands in professionals and researchers. Relight also provides specific technical contents that the project offers to anyone interested through the online learning platform RoMa. In particular Relight together with Tecnalia created and hosted on September 20 the webinar “Circular economy: what and how”. RoMa platform offers now to anyone the possibility to watch the recording, previous registration.
